Bathrooms and Ducks!

This weekend we had a BLAST! On Saturday I had to work, but came home full of energy early enough that we could go enjoy ourselves that night. We weren't exactly sure what we wanted to do but then it came to me! I called up my friend Liv and invited ourselves over...haha! Well not EXACTLY...she did tell me awhile ago I could come over whenever I felt like it. Her and her husband bought a house sometime this spring/summer and have been doing some awesome renovations. I wanted to see them in person instead of just in pictures, especially their AMAZING bathroom. So we headed over there and had lots of fun visiting. Riley managed to yack on Jeff, himself, and their red carpet in the kitchen. However, Maddie, Liv and Kev's dog, licked it up...GROSS...but I guess he is a good housekeeper lol. Then we played in the living room. Maddie was super excited to jump all over us and play with Riley. It was super funny when she licked Riley's face...he had the BEST reaction and I wish we could have caught it on video. Then Riley chased Maddie around the living room. They had a blast together and it was awesome to see Liv and Kev again...it's been wayyyyyy too long!

On Sunday we had made plans to get together with some other friends! We had Ashlynn and Craig over for dinner. She is another great friend of mine that I don't see nearly enough. Let me tell you, I am now a duck pro! See her husband likes to hunt, especially duck, and since hunting season is upon us I decided to ask him about it. I don't think he knew what he was getting into when he agreed to answer my questions, and my poor husband is embarassed to be married to me. I FREAKED out when I found out Craig has DEAD DUCKS in his freezer. The SAME freezer he keeps his chicken and veggies and stuff in! He wants to stuff them..wierd, a little, I know, but truly interesting as well. He told us how you go about stuffing a duck and WHY in the heck you would want to. We also learned what you wear when duck hunting, what dogs do when they go with you, how to train a dog to duck hunt (It's not like on the Nintendo game..I asked) and many other interesting facts. Did you know you can hunt swan? I thought that was interesting...I asked what you do with it's neck when you stuff it because it is so long...anyway, we won't go into details. But seriously, this is really neat! We had lots of laughs and things I won't get into. I think I am going to be a grouse for Halloween....it's like a chicken that lives in the woods. We'll see :)

A New Tag!

It has been awhile since I have been tagged...and that's ok, because I have been super busy lately and haven't had a whole lot of time to blog. However, recently I have noticed tags on my friends blogs and was feeling a little jealous...so thank you Diana for tagging me! Ok here are the rules:

1. Link to person who tagged you, and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 random/weird facts about yourself.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your list, and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Ok so here it goes!

1. When I was like 5 I was watching Punky Brewster and eating potato sticks at the same time. I wasn't paying attention and I bit the top of my finger off!

2. Four of my teeth are fake.

3. Whenever my mom and I get together we pee in our pants at least once :)

4. I wasn't scared one bit to be a new mom...until he came home!

5. I never make the bed.

6. I used to try and convince my mom to write fake notes to my friends in elementary school telling them we had a pet monkey LOL

7. I used to hate my ward...but now I love it!!

Tag you're it: Hollie, Becky, Zjani, Jen H., Hayley, Michelle, and Hillary

The Smith's Adventure for Parker

So the other day I had to run to the store to grab some freezer bags. So there I am on the isle when I hear this boy yelling....I was totally confused and thought that he must be beating up his brother or something. I mean common we are in the grocery store what the heck are you doing? So being the nosy person I can be, I stop and listen some more. Again the boy starts yelling, however this time I am able to decipher WHAT he is saying.

"Common Parker you can do it! It's not much farther. We are almost there. You can do it! Parker, use all your might, mind and strength!"

Then two small boys pass by the isle I am on each carrying 2 gallons of milk! Parker, I assume is the smaller one, about 4 years old, and is in pure agony. He squeals, "I can't go any further! MOM WHERE ARE YOU?????" Tears start streaming down him face. His older, but still young, brother encourages him "Parker you can do it! See we're here!" And they triumphantly make it to the check out.

It was probably the cutest thing I have seen from a stranger in a long time! Parker looked so determined but in so much pain from those heavy gallons of milk, one in each hand. I bet you he is a better person because of it :) Anyway, I love going out in public...people watching is the best!

4-8-15-16-23-42

For those of you who don't understand the title of this blog...you should be grateful! Well, that is a little bit of an exaggeration. So back in April when my parents came to visit they brought Seasons 1-3 of Lost on DVD for us to "watch". However, the word "watch" doesn't even come close to the correct description...it's more like for us to become obsessed with! For the past few weeks all Jeff and I do with our spare time is watch Lost. Our house has come apart at the seams, we sometimes neglect Riley and just give him a bottle so we can watch (ok so that is a little extreme- we normally watch at night and he falls asleep anyway), we dream about it, and we can't wait for the next episode. So my ranting on this is for a couple of reasons. When I first started to make my phone calls to my parents about this my dad was rattling off these numbers and I didn't get it. When we finally got that part of the show he confessed to me he had bought a MegaBucks Lottery Ticket with these numbers...him and probably a million other avid viewers (except those of us living in Utah!) Another reason for this confession of my Lost obsession again has to do with my dad. As most of you know he has cancer...well, he started to loose his hair the other day and instead of waiting for it to all fall out and to look like a patch work he shaved it off and he looks like Lock!!!!!! Crazy huh? Leave a comment if you agree...or disagree!

Game Night!

Hey Rock Creek Ladies..we are at it again! This time we are going to have a game night! It is going to be on Thursday, October 16 @ 7 PM...AT MY HOUSE! Anyway, like always ANYONE AND EVERYONE from the Rock Creek Ward that is a girl is invited! For your friends or neighbors that are not in the blogging community, call them up or walk over to their house and let them know about it! We are thinking about having people bring a small treat they'd like to share (if you are able to do so) and your favorite game (if you have one)! Don't feel obligated to do both or either, just come if that's what you'd like to do!!! I'm super excited for this..I think it will be a great night :) Leave me a comment if you plan on attending and if you plan on bringing anything!

6 Month Check-Up

So Riley was 6 months a little over a week ago, but I waited to make his appointment for a few reasons: I didn't want them to tell me, again, that he wasn't old enough and Jeff's brother got married this weekend and I wanted Riley to have his shots AFTER the wedding in case there are any issues. Well, it was your typical appointment....minus one minor detail...
Head Circumference: 43 in (normal)
Height: 26 in (25th percentile)
Weight: 15 lbs 2 oz (NOT ON THE CHARTS)
So that last detail is where the problem lies...the Dr. is a little worried because Riley isn't really gaining a lot of weight. I PROMISE we feed him...tons in fact, but the little bugger isn't gaining weight. So we have to go back to the Dr. at 8 months and then again for his regular appointment at 9 months. He didn't loose weight, but on the chart he started dropping, so they want to check him more often to make sure he is ok...but let me assure all of you...we aren't STARVING our child!!!

Rock Creek Ladies

Hey girls! It's another Cafe Rio event! This Tuesday @ 6:30 at the Layton Cafe Rio. Sorry for such short notice my life has been out of control this past week and I haven't had time. This time around we will make sure we can all sit together! Also, let's talk about the upcoming months and what we want to do. Shelby and I have thought of a few ideas so brainstorm a few and we'll see ya there! Also, like last time...leave me a comment on whether or not you can make it..k?
